I'm sharing my story as a warning to others. My online glasses shopping experience was a complete disaster, and I feel compelled to let people know what they might be getting into. I ordered glasses on May 4th and was assured they would be finished on May 11th. It is now May 26th and I keep getting emails apologizing for the delay. I tried multiple times to call customer service and finally spoke to someone who was absolutely no help at all, which is what pushed me to share this and prompted the conversation below.
Customer: I'm calling about my order placed on May 4th. I was promised it would be ready by May 11th, and it's now the 26th. Can you tell me where my glasses are?
CS Rep: I understand your frustration. Let me look up your order details. I see there has been a delay in our lab. We sincerely apologize for the wait.
Customer: An apology doesn't help me see. I've been getting those by email for two weeks. I need a real update. When will my order actually ship?
CS Rep: I can see how upsetting this must be. The system indicates it is in the final stages and should be shipping soon. I can offer you a discount on your next purchase for the trouble.
Customer: "Soon" isn't an answer, and I will definitely not be making a next purchase. This is completely unprofessional. I want to know a firm date.
CS Rep: I truly am sorry, but I cannot provide a guaranteed shipping date at this moment. I have escalated your order for priority processing.
